BLT Youth Theatre presents:
Alice
by Laura Wade
Directed by Helen Dunlea, Joel Trill and Tunde Euba
“We’re all mad here. We’re all crazy as milkshake. Mad as a bag of trifle.”
The White Rabbit is late for the Duchess. The Cheshire Cat won’t stop grinning. The Queen is off her head and the Hatter is, well, mad. In the middle of it all is Alice, a young girl with a vivid imagination, trying to cope with a family tragedy. Follow Alice as she escapes to a surreal world and a journey in which she discovers herself.
Based on Lewis Carroll’s classic tale of Alice in Wonderland, which this year celebrates its 150th anniversary, Alice breathes fresh life into a much-loved story about rabbit holes, tea parties and talking caterpillars. BLT youth theatre brings you Wonderland as you’ve never seen it before.
Laura Wade (Posh and Breathing Corpses) is one of Britain’s most exciting new playwrights. Her radical re-telling of the Alice story brings Wonderland right up to date with mobile phones, a Wonderband and unexpected twists.
Please bring friends and family along to be thoroughly entertained by our talented young actors!
