After more than ten years serving on the BLT Board, including the last three as Chair, Bruce Wallace will be stepping down as Chair and Board member at the AGM in July.
During that time, BLT has seen a period of significant progress and change. The theatre has developed and delivered a clear strategy, secured major funding, and completed the transformational Phase 3 building redevelopment project. At the same time, BLT’s connection with the local community has deepened; participation and outreach have expanded, and our productions have continued to flourish — attracting record audiences and generating growing support for the theatre.
Reflecting on his time as Chair, Bruce said:
“It has been a real privilege to help lead BLT through such an exciting and ambitious period in our history. What we’ve achieved has only been possible because of the extraordinary commitment, creativity and generosity of so many volunteers, members and supporters across our BLT community.
BLT is a very special place and I remain hugely optimistic about its future.”
Although stepping away from the day-to-day responsibilities of Board leadership, Bruce intends to remain actively involved with BLT.
Over the next couple of months, the Board will plan for the next phase of leadership and ensuring a smooth and positive transition.
As BLT looks ahead to its next chapter, it does so from a position of strength — with an increasingly vibrant and engaged community at its heart.
