Bug

By Tracy Letts

Directed by  Debbie Griffiths

An amateur production by arrangement with A3 Artists Agency

Pulitzer Prize winning author Tracy Letts brings us Bug, set in a seedy Oklahoma motel room, where Agnes, a divorced, lonely waitress, with a fondness for cocaine lives on her own.  Her physically abusive ex-husband, Jerry has just been released from prison.  Her best friend, R.C., introduces her to Peter, a soft-spoken Gulf War drifter.

As the relationship between Agnes and Peter develops, so does their bug infestation.  Peter believes the bugs are the result of experiments conducted on him during his stay at an army hospital.  Their fears soon escalate to paranoia, conspiracy theories and twisted psychological motives.  Are the bugs real or are they a manifestation of too many drugs?

‘This twisted tale of romance and paranoia will get under your skin.’ Evening Standard

‘Bug is an extraordinary and very shocking exploration of obsession and loneliness.’ British Theatre Guide
