SOUTHERN ACES deliver good-time, soul and R&B, a touch of boogie, blues and zydeco, full of scorching sax solos, lap-steel guitar, harmonica, keyboards and accordion, backed up by a super-tight rhythm section and great vocals.
Take six seasoned professionals, and add a seasoning of great songs and tunes – this is music to lose yourself in, and to party to!
The mood is up-and-dancing and the inspiration is the music of New Orleans, Memphis, Texas and Chicago, featuring music by such stellar artists at Ray Charles, Dr John, Charles Mingus, Taj Mahal, Bruce Springsteen, Sonny Boy Williamson, T-Bone Walker and J J Cale.
Band members have toured and recorded with artists including Climax Blues Band, Cliff Bennett, Dana Gillespie, Principal Edwards and Chicago blues artists Carey Bell, Mojo Buford, Mississippi Red and Nappy Brown.
