NEW PLAY READINGS AND WORKSHOPS

Following the popularity of our play readings over ZOOM and building on the success of ‘The Sea’ which involved some forward planning by the readers there are 2 more opportunities with which you can engage:

A WORKSHOP APPROACH TO EXPLORING TEXT

Dave Armour will lead a group over 2 evening sessions over ZOOM

  • Session 1. To discuss and explore a text that the whole group has read – details to follow once it is clear how many people want to engage. It will be a modern play text which explores relationships and will work well with actors working together in small groups.
  • Session 2. To work on extracts from the play and observe and discuss how different actors bring a different interpretation to the same pieces of text.

Please express interest by Saturday 10 April to armourgg19@gmail.com

Dates for the sessions will be decided based on the availability of the group but will be before we can open the theatre for rehearsals on May 17.

A PLAYREADING OF ‘INK’ BY JAMES GRAHAM

Following the popularity of ‘Quiz’ by James Graham there will be a reading over ZOOM of the highly entertaining, satirical play ‘Ink’ also by James Graham which traces the rise of ‘The Sun’ newspaper and its founder Rupert Murdoch. It is at once funny, chilling, thrilling, dramatic and highly entertaining. There are over 30 colourful characters that could be played by a reading group of about 10 upwards. The reading will take place at 7-30 on Thursday 22 April. Please express interest as a reader and /or listener by Saturday 10 April to armourgg19@gmail.com I will then sort out how you can access a script and allocate role/s.
