An update on Membership fees for 2024
The costs of running our beloved theatre have increased significantly over recent years. Since we last raised our membership rates in 2012 the Retail Price Index (i.e. the cost of goods and services) has increased by 55% and energy costs, in particular, have risen dramatically: in 2019 our heat and light bill was £4.1K, in 2023 it is already over £15K. Our membership fee income for both years was approximately £12K. We’ve done our best to manage our operational expenditure as efficiently as we can, but there’s a limit to what we can do when we are putting on 18 plays every year in a building that’s nearly 200 years old! So, we have reluctantly taken the decision to raise our membership rates from 1st January 2024 to the levels shown in the table below:   New BLT annual membership rates from 1st January 2024
Even with these increases a BLT membership still offers unbeatable value for money, saving you £4 on every main house show ticket and £2 on bar shows. That works out at a saving of £58 a year.  And the sooner you join, the more you’ll save!

The future of our theatre. You could play a crucial role in it.
BLT recently announced a major funding project to raise £85,000 from our members and supporters. We also need to raise a further £400,000 from Trusts, Foundations and the National Lottery.  Unfortunately, the fund-raising team focused on this has unexpectedly lost two of its key members and we urgently need to find people to take their places.   Could you be one of them?   The work should only involve a few hours a week and could be done remotely to suit your schedule.

There are two main aspects of these roles:

1) Research grant funding organisations to establish whether the theatre meets eligibility requirements

2) Where there is a potential match, obtain, complete, submit and monitor the application process through to a decision being made.

We’re looking for good organisers with excellent written and oral communication skills; the ability to quickly establish and manage relationships with the Fund Raising team, theatre board and prospective grant funding organisations;  the ability to enjoy (and contribute to) being part of a team

If you think you could help, please contact our Chair, Bruce Wallace at brucewallace@bromleylittletheatre.org
