Bruce Wallace takes over as BLT Chair |
![]() We are indebted to him for his leadership of the Board, especially during the pandemic when the future of our beloved theatre was under threat. Keith also led our building development work and played the major role in securing our new 30 – year lease. He leaves the board with our very best wishes. We shall miss him. Bruce Wallace is our new Chair and Strategy Director having served in a number of roles on the board since 2015 – the latest of which are leading our Community Outreach and our Follow On Work programmes now that phase 2 of the rebuild is almost complete. Bruce has a number of important goals for BLT over the next few years: * Maintaining our reputation for producing Outstanding Theatre…for everyone * Growing and diversifying our interactions in the Bromley community * Securing significant funding to allow us to continue with the building development programme ….and encouraging more of our members and supporters to get involved to help us achieve the goals above – we won’t be able to do it without you! Don’t miss BLT on tour at Hever Castle! ![]() Directed by Pauline Armour We are delighted to announce that this play will be performed at the Hever Castle Festival on 18th & 19th August , featuring many BLT regulars! First seen at BLT in 1989 and then again in 2015, this heady mix of sex, laughs and amateur theatricals proved to be a winning combination. A lonely and shy widower, Guy Jones, joins a local amateur light operatic society and rises through the company ranks purely by his inability to say no – this spills over into his personal relationships with members of the society. The play is juxtaposed with scenes and music from John Gay’s The Beggar’s Opera and skilfully draws parallels between the characters in the opera and the private lives of the amateur thespians. Come and enjoy one of Alan Ayckbourn’s most celebrated comedies in the superb surroundings of Hever Castle! BOOK NOW See into the future!
