front of house

Each night of a show we need you to guide our audience. This is an important role – you are in charge on the night, so we will give you training if you have never done it. It is a great chance to meet our audiences.

fund-raising

We have an active team working with the Board to prepare funding documents, organise extra events and work with other local organisations. The Board is considering positioning BLT as an arts hub in Bromley – offering skills and support to other organisations across the borough. If we can make this work, there may be opportunities for people with computer, virtual reality, animation, artificial intelligence, and video experience.

kitchen

On show nights we need a couple of people to make teas and coffees in the interval and serve ice-creams. You will have a busy 30 minutes but you are free to watch the show on screen.

bar

On show nights we need two people to run the bar. You will take interval drinks orders and lay them out, and then in the interval and after the show sell drinks. We encourage actors and directors to take their turn. Again we are happy to give training.

box office

Serving in the Box Office is a great role for being in the centre of what is going on at BLT. You meet lots of people, both the creative types and audience members, and you’re doing something which is, of course, critical to the theatre: no box office, no tickets, no money, no theatre!

If you can support the manager one night during a run we can show you the ropes.

membership administration

Many of our audience members, as well as all active participants in the life of BLT, become members of the theatre. It brings advance notice of shows, discounted tickets and the opportunity to work Front of House, be in a show or work backstage.

marketing and website

We have a busy team compiling emails, writing content for our website, preparing programmes and leaflets, and reaching out to our audience. If you are interested, whatever your skills, get in touch.
