Barbarella’s Bang Bang and Terra Viva
8th March 2020
On International Women’s day 8th March 2020 BLT present two bands fronted by charismatic singer songwriterwomen with powerful voices.
BARBARELLA’S BANG BANG is a four piece led by Bromley based Barbara Pugliese with a voice full of threat, charm and operatic swagger. When she sings with Armands Ozolins’ laid back surf guitar, it’s a unique and wonderful sound (something like Imelda May with Jeff Beck). The band have a diverse and multicultural group of influences: rock, pop and post punk,…even country rockabilly. Hear their single ‘Cowboy Job’ and their version of the classic ‘St James’ Infirmary’).
TERRA VIVA is a five piece band based in South East London founded by Angelina Luzi and bass player Devid Dell’ Aiera. The band describe themselves as ‘Italian gipsy folk rock madness with a London twist’. The social and political topics touched by their lyrics continue to be delivered by their music aimed to make you dance with infectious grooves that span from gipsy to Italian folk, rock and world music. Their single ‘One Too Many’ will have everyone joining in – a new anthem for our times!
As a bonus Barbara and Angelina promise an additional acoustic set singing in harmony over guitar and percussion.

July brings a bit of touring theatre to BLT’s stage. Last year, actor Mark Farrelly brought us a dramatisation of Patrick Hamilton’s life (the playwright who wrote ‘Gaslight’). This time he is bringing us ‘Naked Hope’, his marvellous and acclaimed show about the legendary Quentin Crisp. Don’t miss it!
