About us
The BLT Youth Group is based at the theatre on North Street. It operates on Fridays during school term time and is open to young people in years 9-13. It is led by Pauline Armour and Jessica-Ann Jenner, both experienced directors at Bromley Little Theatre.
Striving for excellence
Seeking to echo the high quality of performance set by the public productions of the theatre, the group is committed to equipping young performers with key skills and challenging them to set their own high standards of preparation and performance. Our sessions include work with scripts as well as improvisation, and workshops exploring different genres of theatre and practitioners.
What we do
Each year the youth group put on their own production on the main stage as well as having opportunities to showcase at other points in the year and to audition for our main stage and bar shows. We pride ourselves on tackling challenging texts and themes with the group and giving them opportunities to explore modern and classic works.
It is not just acting
We also welcome young people wishing to develop technical skills to join us as technicians and operators on our showcases and productions.
Our awards
In recent years we have entered our annual production into the Kent Drama Association Festival competing against other youth and adult productions across the county. We are delighted to have been awarded ‘Best Youth Production’ for three consecutive years. Details of other awards can be found below.
